The Beli Story

Welcome to Beli!  We are glad you are here!

Our fertility can be an incredibly empowering aspect of our health; the more work we do to nourish it today, the better off we’ll be down the road.

A lot of the pregnancy journey is out of our control, but what we put in our body is one thing we can control that has a big impact on our overall reproductive health and increasing our chances of pregnancy.

Before fertilization even occurs the sperm and the egg need to exist within a healthy and well-nourished parent environment. It’s been well established that nutritional deficiencies in both the man and woman can contribute to risk factors around fertility, miscarriage, birth defects, sperm health, egg health, and future health of your baby, so the emphasis on nutritional optimization for both of you is essential.

The Beli Journey

It started with a mission: To make women’s bodies the healthiest they can be to welcome a new, healthy baby.

The name Beli comes from ‘Believe.’   The choice to believe is one of the most important decisions we can make.  We all have our personal journeys to tell and share and we want you to know we believe with you every step of the way.

It is proven the healthier our bodies are before pregnancy, the better the environment is to conceive and maintain a healthy pregnancy, as well as support a flourishing child. Health and nutrition of both men and women before conception is important not only for pregnancy outcomes, but also for the lifelong health of our children and even the next generation.  Did you also know that a lack of nutrients and vitamins in our diet can lead to infertility? When we don’t get all the nutrients that our bodies need, they can be thrown out of whack and, as a result, we can experience fertility problems.

When we set out on this journey our goal was to empower women by helping them embark on a healthy and more successful path to motherhood by creating a new line of clean, high quality, and highly absorbable vitamins optimized for each stage of pregnancy. The fact is innovation in vitamins has not kept up with science in the area of fertility, reproductive and pregnancy health, and the old, one size fits all approach does not work for anyone.  Our bodies are constantly changing and rejuvenating, which is amazing, but what those cells are being created from is what we consume.  What we put in our mouths is one of the biggest factors how our bodies work and feel, and perhaps the only thing we can control in the whole pregnancy process.

But then something happened.  We had our A-HA moment during our research and our approach changed (for now).

What about the Other 50% of the Equation?

It’s important to remember that it takes two to make a baby. Sperm health is just as important as the egg in the baby making equation. The sperm provide 50% of the genetic material for the baby, and if the sperm isn’t healthy enough to preserve that material or penetrate the egg, that fetus will never occur or probably develop.

And we asked ourselves a new question. Why, in 2019, do women still bear the medical and psychological burden of trying to get and stay pregnant?

Women’s fertility issues make headlines on a routine basis, and doctors are constantly talking with women about steps they can take to get their bodies ready for trying to conceive and carry a healthy pregnancy. Our lifestyle choices are scrutinized, there is talk of biological clocks, fertility diets, fertility acupuncture, fertility boosting yoga, fertility trackers, and the new craze of freezing your eggs and the rise of the ‘social freezers.' Fertility and reproductive health is a $21 billion dollar industry and growing at warp speeds. But men are often overlooked until an issue with conceiving arises, despite the fact that sperm health plays a dramatic role in not only creating, but also sustaining a successful pregnancy.

While women are born with all the eggs they will ever have, the man's body creates sperm daily. In fact, 1,500 new sperm cells are "born" every second. The process from germline stem cell to sperm cell takes about 72 days. Evidence shows that the most common cause of sperm deficiencies are nutrient shortages. Just like women, men’s bodies need different vitamins and minerals in order to produce healthy sperm. Taking steps to maintain sperm health, even if no fertility issues are present, can dramatically improve how quickly you and your partner conceive and the viability of that conception.

Sperm quantity and quality are among the leading causes of issues that arise on the male side of the equation. Did you know more than 40% of couples who are unable to have children are unable to do so because of problems with the man's sperm?  A 2012 study revealed that just 1 in 4 men have optimal semen quality.  It takes tens of millions of sperm to reach the egg and only one makes it. Lifestyle choices and lack of the right nutrients can dramatically reduce sperm count. Even a small decline in sperm count could mean a big impact on fertility, making it harder to conceive.

Numerous scientific studies have proven that nutrients like L-carnitine, vitamins C and E, N-acetylcysteine, zinc, and coenzyme Q10 could increase male fertility four-fold.  One study found that a combined supplementation of folate and zinc for a period of 26 weeks increased total sperm count in men with optimal and sub optimal sperm counts. In fact, it increased normal total sperm count by 74 percent. Also interesting in this study, before supplementation was started, seminal folate and zinc levels were not significantly different in the fertile and sub-fertile men. This may indicate that even though low folate wasn’t the cause for lower sperm counts, supplementation still helped.

Meet Beli Vitality for Men

We named it Vitality for a reason:  Vitality is the state of being strong and active, and it gives us the power of life.

Most men produce millions of new sperm every day. However, you might not know that it takes around three months to fully mature. A lot can happen in those three months that can affect the overall health and capabilities of that sperm. Evidence shows that the most common cause of sperm deficiencies are nutrient shortages. Just like women, men’s bodies need different vitamins and minerals to produce healthy baby makers.

Beli’s Vitality provides men with the right nutrients optimized for reproductive and sperm health, with some amazing bonus benefits of energy, balance and overall wellness.

  • Clinically proven ingredients to improve sperm health
  • Helps to increase sperm count
  • Protects sperm while they grow
  • Helps to improve sperm quality
  • Helps better penetration of the egg
  • Helps balance acid-alkaline balance to help sperm survive and work properly
  • Natural energy booster
  • Good for cellular health

So, think of Beli as your secret weapon in the pregnancy equation. This one habit of taking a daily vitamin will help men get the critical nutrients needed and improve your odds of successfully making your mini me.

We want to hear from you – share your stories and your Beli journey. We are here with you every step of the way.
